Anthem Gold Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)
The Anthem Gold Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) is an insurance plan designed specifically for CU Boulder students.
This plan is administered by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and provides a full year of medical, mental health and prescription coverage.
Who can enroll
The following students can enroll in the Anthem Gold SHIP.
- Degree-seeking students enrolled in six (6) or more undergraduate credits.
- Degree-seeking students enrolled in one (1) or more graduate credits.
- Non-degree seeking continuing education, study abroad or evening MBA student enrolled in six (6) or more credits. You must also pay the base and student health fees. To confirm your eligibility, please call 303-492-5107 or email studentinsurance@colorado.edu.
- Students approved for the leave of absence program can enroll for one semester. To confirm your eligibility, please call 303-492-5107 or email studentinsurance@colorado.edu.
- International exchange students and J-1 exchange students can choose to enroll in the Anthem Gold SHIP but are not required to.
Enrollment and coverage dates
This plan provides coverage from fall through summer unless you change your selection during the next enrollment period.
Fall
- Open enrollment begins: June 18, 2024
- Open enrollment deadline: Sept. 15, 2024
- Coverage period: Aug. 1 to Dec. 31, 2024
- Cost: $2,420 per semester
Please note: The insurance portal will open June 18, 2024. You must be enrolled in 6+ undergraduate credit hours or 1+ graduate credit hour to access the portal.
Spring
- Open enrollment begins: Dec. 17, 2024
- Open enrollment deadline: Feb. 13, 2025
- Coverage period: Jan. 1 to July 31, 2025
- Cost: $2,420 per semester
Summer only
- Coverage dates: May 1 to July 31, 2025
- Enrollment dates: April 13, 2025 to May 31, 2025
- Cost: $1,213 per semester
Please note: Summer enrollment is not necessary for students enrolled for spring, as their coverage will continue through the summer. If students need to purchase summer coverage, they can email us at studentinsurance@colorado.edu to discuss their eligibility.
